Ibuprofen (布洛芬)
Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to relieve pain, fever, and inflammation. This includes painful menstrual periods (痛经), migraines (偏头痛), and rheumatoid arthritis (类风湿性关节炎).
NSAIDs are useful in the management of post-operative dental pain (牙痛) following invasive dental procedures such as dental extraction. When not contra-indicated, they are favoured over the use of paracetamol alone due to the anti-inflammatory effect they provide.
Paracetamol (扑热息痛, acetaminophen: 对乙酰氨基酚)
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a medication used to treat fever and mild to moderate pain. Common brand names include Tylenol (泰诺) and Panadol (必理痛).
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is generally not considered an NSAID because it has only minor anti-inflammatory activity. Paracetamol treats pain mainly by blocking COX-2 and inhibiting endocannabinoid reuptake almost exclusively within the brain, and only minimally in the rest of the body.
Aspirin (阿司匹林, Acetylsalicylic acid: 乙酰水杨酸)
Aspirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce pain, fever, and/or inflammation, and as an antithrombotic (抗血栓).
This antithrombotic property makes aspirin useful for reducing the incidence of heart attacks in people who have had a heart attack, unstable angina, ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack.
