Create sheets

Create charts

Create charts in sheets by drag Fields from the Data pane to the Columns or Rows shelves in the workspace.

Filters

In the Data pane, right-click Fields and select Show Filter. The filters are added to the right side of the sheet.

From the Data pane, drag Fields to the Filters shelf to add it as a filter in the sheet.

Tableau applies filters in the following order:

1. Extract Filters

2. Data Source Filters

3. Context Filters

4. Top N Filters

5. Dimension Filters

6. Measure Filters

Color

From the Data pane, drag Fields to Color on the Marks card.

Find key insights

• Apply filters and color to make it easier to focus on the areas of your data that interest you the most.
• Interact with your chart using the tools that Tableau provides.
• Duplicate worksheets and save your changes to continue exploring your data in different ways without losing your work.
